A few times, I’ve heard some passengers jokingly say, ‘I wish I didn’t have to get off the ship.‘
Well, this is what happened to a group of passengers who had their ship stuck in port, however, with a much more complicated situation.
Which cruise ship is it?
The ship is Villa Vie Odyssey, owned by Villa Vie ResidencesĀ a company that sells residences on cruise ships with prices that start from $99,999.
The ship was scheduled to leave Belfast on May 30 with more than 70% of the cabins purchased.
The itinerary was supposed to be really long, 1,301 days around the world, which would have included 425 ports and more than a hundred islands across Europe, Asia, and America.
Instead, the cruise ship has been stranded for three months in Northern Ireland with its passengers spending the entire summer in the city, awaiting departure.
We can spend all day aboard the ship, and they provide shuttle buses to get on and off.
We can have all of our meals and they even have movies and trivia entertainment, almost like cruising except we’re at the dock.
one of the guests told the BBC.
However, not everything was nice and some American passengers were quite surprised by the Irish weather:
I’ve never had so much use for my umbrella in my life, and I carry my raincoat everywhere I go.
What kind of malfunction is it, and when will the ship depart?
The planned departure in May was severely delayed due to mechanical problems, including problems with the rudder and gearbox.
The cruise line has made it known that it is doing everything possible to repair the faults as soon as possible. Meanwhile, it is organizing other activities for the passengers.
However, some of them decided not to wait on the ship and took the opportunity to visit other countries in Europe while waiting for the long cruise to finally start.
If you remember, I have already told you about Villa Vie Residences in the article where we saw how you can permanently live on a cruise ship.
