Accidents can always happen, and of course, they can also happen during a vacation or while you’re on a cruise ship.

I know it’s frustrating when something unexpected happens during your vacation, especially when all you want is to have fun or relax.

But often, these things are beyond our control, so there’s no use crying over spilled milk (or in this case, spilled water).

What Happened on one of Royal Caribbean’s Latest Cruises?

Unfortunately, on one of Royal Caribbean’s last cruises, there was a rather major incident involving pipes.

According to the video a passenger filmed on board, some water pipes allegedly broke and made water rain down from the ceiling, flooding the entire hallway.

Everything happened just one day after Allure of the Seas, a ship that can carry 5,496 passengers, departed from PortMiami for a 3-night cruise to the Bahamas.

Here is the video posted on TikTok by @joshuaofrichardson:

What Happened Next?

The same passenger who shot the video explained that the situation was handled very well by the Royal Caribbean team, and most passengers did not even notice the problem.

Fortunately, the ship was not fully booked, so people who had cabins in the flooded area were moved to other rooms.

More specifically, he said:

Pipe stopped, leak being fixed, and people moved right away to other rooms. Royal Caribbean does things right when nature rumbles.

Why Are These Things Quite Common on Cruise Ships?

Unfortunately, these hydraulic problems are quite common on cruise ships (above you can see a photo of a similar one that happened on a Carnival ship).

The system that makes the water flow into all the cabins is quite complex and consists of a series of pipes that connect to each other.

Especially on the older ships, there may be some ruptures and leaks, but the important thing is for the maintenance team to take action as soon as possible to avoid too much inconvenience to passengers.

Obviously, I don’t think there is any need to specify this, but if you see any leaks (even minimal ones), notify staff immediately so that action can be taken as soon as possible to avoid serious damage such as we have seen in this case.
