Hello everyone! Today we are going to talk about Costa Cruises’ beverage packages.
I don’t know how many of you have traveled or plan to travel with Costa.
It is a company intended mainly for the Italian market, so it might interest someone who wants to take a cruise to discover Europe.
I have often traveled with them since I am Italian, so I am very familiar with their drink packages.
Below you will find the list of all the packages, the drinks they include, and the 2024 updated prices.
The types of drink packages you can find on Costa Cruises
The first thing I want to say is that on Costa Cruises you can find two types of packages:
- Packages that have unlimited drinks (My Drinks, My Drinks Plus and My Meals)
- Packages that have a maximum number of drinks (usually 20 or 40)
Of course, we’re gonna talk about all of them.
Read the article carefully and to the end, because there are so many different packages and it is easy to get confused.
Unlimited drink packages
Let’s start first with the unlimited drink packages. As the name says, with this packages you can order as many drinks as you want.
The only thing to note is that they have a fixed price per day, and cannot be shared.
My Drinks
My Drinks is the basic unlimited package. It also includes some alcoholic drinks but only the classic ones.
In particular, this package includes:
- Water by the glass (and half-liter bottle per person per day)
- Hot drinks (coffee, cappuccino, chocolate, tea)
- Soft drinks (Pepsi, 7UP, orange juice and iced tea)
- Draft beer
- Non-alcoholic fruit drinks
- Aperol Spritz and crodino
- Classic cocktails (gin and tonic, mojito, etc…)
- Brandy, whiskey, cognac and bitters
- Unlimited drinks during meals (water, soft drinks, wine, and draft beer)
What is the price for the My Drinks package?
It costs €31.50 per day per person if purchased with the cruise. If you buy it on board, the price goes up to €42 per day.
A thing that I love is that this package is free for those under 18 if purchased while booking the cruise. On the contrary, if you buy it on board it will cost €18 per day for every child.
My Drinks Plus
If you want a package that also includes premium drinks and a wider choice of brands, you can choose My Drinks Plus.
This package includes:
- Hot drinks (coffee, cappuccino, chocolate, tea)
- Soft drinks (Pepsi, 7UP, orange juice and iced tea)
- Draft beer
- Non-alcoholic fruit drinks
- Aperol Spritz and crodino
- Classic cocktails (gin and tonic, mojito, etc…)
- Brandy, whiskey, cognac and bitters
- Unlimited drinks during meals (water, soft drinks, wine, and draft beer)
In addition to the previous package, you can also order:
- Unlimited bottles of water
- Beer in bottles (Corona or Beck’s)
- Fruit juices
- Molecular and premium cocktails
- Bitter, distilled spirits, and liqueurs from prestigious brands
- Minibar drinks
What is the price for the My Drinks Plus package?
It costs €46 per day per person if purchased with the cruise. If you buy it on board, the price goes up to €47 per day.
As with the previous one, this package is also free for those under the age of 18 if it is purchased together with the cruise. Otherwise, the price is €18 per day.
My Meals
The My Meals package allows you to order drinks during the 3 main meals of the day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The included drinks in this case are:
- Still or sparkling water
- Soft drinks
- Draft beer
- A selection of white, red, and rose wines
- Fruit juices
- Hot drinks: espresso, American, decaffeinated coffee, cappuccino, milk.
Of course, in this case, drinks can only be ordered and consumed at the main restaurants or buffet. Only hot drinks can also be ordered at the bars.
Packages with limited drinks
Costa Cruises also has packages that offer a limited number of drinks.
It means that you will pay a fixed price and can order only a certain number of drinks.
One interesting thing is that these packages already include service charges. Whereas, if you buy individual drinks, you have to add 15% to the price you see on the menu.
Water Package
As a first option, you can purchase a water package.
This is a rather attractive option because no tap water is served on Costa Cruises in the restaurants. Therefore, when you have lunch or dinner you must buy bottled water.
Tap water is only available at the buffet and you can get it through the dispensers you see in the photo below.
This package includes 13 bottles of water (1 liter each) that you can request at any time during your cruise.
The price of the water package is €42 for 13 bottles. I have done the math for you, you will save about 17%.
Beer Package
Costa Cruises also has a beer package.
It includes 20 draft Heineken’s of 40 cl each.
The price of the beer package is €105, and again you will save about 17%.
Water, coffee, and beer package on Costa Cruises
If you want a more complete package you can opt for the one that includes water, coffee and beer.
More specifically, with this package, you will get 7 bottles of water (one liter each), 7 draft beers (40 cl each) and 14 coffees (espresso or decaf).
This package costs a total of €89.
Zero Alcohol Package
If you prefer soft drinks, non-alcoholic cocktails, and juices, you can opt for the Alcohol Zero package.
You will get 20 non-alcoholic drinks for the price of €79 or 40 non-alcoholic drinks for the price of €135.
Costa Cruises Coffee Package
The coffee package is one of the most popular on Costa cruises, especially by Italians who cannot give up their espresso.
By the way, I can confirm that the coffee on board is very good, it is provided by Caffè Vergnano a historic coffee company in Northern Italy.
The price is €52 for 25 espresso coffees.
Cappuccino package
The cappuccino package is another favorite among Italians and can be a good option for breakfast.
It includes 25 cappuccinos for the price of €82.
To conclude
As you can see, Costa Cruises has a fairly extensive selection of packages.
They really manage to please all tastes, from those who like cocktails to those who only drink sodas, to those who want hot drinks like coffee and cappuccino.
